PTD RADIO INTRO – The richest 1% of this country owns half our country’s wealth, $5 trillion dollars. You got 90% of the American public with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price of a paperclip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody wonders how the hell we did it. You’re not naive enough to think we’re living in a democracy, are you, Buddy? It’s the free market… … … I create nothing. I OWN.
Why wreck a company that hires 100’s of working class people with mortgages, and families, and children? Because it’s wreckable, that’s why! In the same sense, why a wreck a nation that at one point in time was the envy of the world? Because it’s wreckable!
It’s been nearly 35 years since the release of “Wall Street.” Only now, 650 families now control that same $5 trillion dollars today. That means that .000002% of the country now controls $5,000,0000,000,000.00 dollars in wealth. Meanwhile, over 200 million Americans can’t afford an expense or an emergency of over $1,000. This is not a sane world, nor is it fair, nor is it going to change.
This will only accelerate as FEAR and GREED are the two strongest emotions manipulating the pulse of the nation. 90% of the general public will always LOSE because no matter how GREEDY they are, they allow FEAR to guide all of their most important decisions in life. It’s also why 90% of the American general public has little to no net worth. Less than 10% of the public has the ability to pounce on opportunity and excel during times of great fear. To be greedy when others are fearful.
Gordon Gekko in Wall Street is best known for the line: “Greed is good.” But here’s the actual quote: “The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms — greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge — has marked the upward surge of mankind.”
Maybe Gekko was right after all.
Maybe we’ve been on easy street for far too long?
Maybe we needed a culling?
Maybe the heard of fat retards has to be thinned?
And maybe only the most ferocious among us will survive and excel in the end.
